Having gone cold and knocked out of European competition, the defender spoke out with a message on social media in which he began with a phrase that reflected his pain at what happened on Montjuic: “The football that gave me so much joy has hit me hard"

I thank those who are unconditionally by my side, my teammates who left everything on the field, and fans who believed in us until the end. I’m very sorry not to give you this joy," he said.

Ronald Araujo shared a sentence also delivered by Frenkie de Jong when he spoke to reporters: "We'll try again". Barcelona are now left to hope for the impossible in the final race for the Primera Division title.
