The German's goal came after good link up play on the edge of the box between Vinicius and Rodrygo. The latter laid the ball off to Kroos who went for placement to try and beat goalkeeper Athanasiadis.
The Real Madrid footballer hit the ball into the top corner with a pass like shot. The ball hit the crossbar, bounced in and then came back out. The referee's watch confirmed that the ball had crossed the line.
Real Madrid were in control at half-time and they were close to booking their place in the last 16. Benzema made it three early in the second half.
