Kroos on Aubameyang tackle: "I was bleeding, I needed three stitches"

In his well known podcast 'Einfach Mal Luppen', in a chat with his brother Felix, Toni Kroos revealed after 'El Clasico' against Barcelona that he had to have three stitches on his tibia after a bad challenge by Aubameyang. The Gabonese was not carded for the offence.
"I had a wound and they had to stitch up the tibia with three stitches. I saw that I was bleeding, but I didn't really feel it. I keep on focussing on the match and I saw it go 3-0, 4-0, That was, of course, very bitter. After the 0-1 goal, it was one way traffic, that was disappointing. In general, we were very weak right until the end of the game," the German international said.
In addition, the Real Madrid player revealed that the "bitter night" which he experienced got worse when he had to go to the anti-doping control room with Vinicius, Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba.
"A 0-4 loss, an injury and the night got worse in the 80th minute when the doctor came and said that I had to go to the anti-doping room. Pique and Jordi Alba were also there. We didn't speak," Kroos said.
And he added: "Vinicius and I were the losers group. That rounded off the night, sat there for an hour and a half in the doping control room. So I was very happy when I got out of there."
Leaving the painful defeat to Barca to one side, Kroos also spoke about the team's aim in La Liga this season: "We have to lift our heads up again. Evertone would have taken this position at the start of the season. Therefore, we have to shake this off and carry on. In any case, the season has been very good up to now. We've been everywhere we wanted to be and we're doing it well. If we don't let this defeat throw us off course, we've got a very good chance of winning it."
Finally, the German referred to the Champions League meeting with Chelsea: "We should look at ourselves. And if we're good, it's possible, we've seen it. Therefore we have to look ourselves very well because we have a team to reach the semi-finals."
