Koeman to face two match ban after appeal is rejected

Diego Simeone and Ronald Koeman's number two will be on the touchline this weekend for the big game between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in La Liga at the weekend. 

The Spanish FA appeals body (RFEF) have rejected Barca's appeal and confirmed that the two match ban imposed on Ronald Koeman will stand. That means he will not be on the touchline this Saturday against Atletico Madrid. 

Koeman was sent off in the 66th minute of the match against Granada last Thursday for saying "what a character" to the fourth official, according to referee Pablo Gonzalez Fuertes' match report. 

The Dutch coach served the first game of his ban against Valencia last Sunday and he will also be banned for this weekend's blockbuster with Atletico Madrid. 

But Barca will not just sit there and do nothing. They will take their appeal to the Spanish sports court. The Catalans will ask for the ban to be put on hold and that would mean he would be on the bench on Saturday.
