Koeman's Barca shoots the most but is the least accurate

What's wrong with Koeman's Barcelona? The answer is deeper than we can go into here, but you can take the image of Leo Messi shooting over and over again and not finding the net as a good indicator of an issue. In one week, against Cadiz (10/5), Juventus (11/7) and Levante (12/6), he completed 33 shots and 18 on target. All for the sad result of one goal (the only one with Azulgrana merit, as the other was from Alcalá on his own doorstep). This is not exclusive to the Argentinian, it is the general mood of this Barcelona that wants it more than ever but just isn't finding the back of the net.

The statistics say that the team shoots on average 16.06 times per game and 7.35 times on target. These are the highest records of the last seven years. Luis Enrique in the 2015-2016 season, set the bar at 16 shots which Koeman is currently beating. the previous record on target was in the 14-15 season at 6.86. 

However, this has not exactly resulted in Barcelona having more goals, as Koeman's also has the highest figures for the number of shots needed to score (7.38) and the number of shots on target per goal (3.38). The Barca team with the least number of goals dates from two seasons ago: the records for that stage were 6.46 and 2.78, respectively. 

Another significant fact that reinforces the feeling of powerlessness of this team is that it has already played three official matches in which it has been unable to score a goal against its rivals (Getafe, Atlético Madrid and Juventus). 

The fact that after 15 games Messi is the clubs top scorer with eight goals is not something that we are used to seeing. He remains the club's central pillar.
