In one of the most unexpected moves in the entire summer market, Kevin-Prince Boateng decided to start a new adventure in his career with Monza, a team recently promoted to the Italian B Series.
The Ghanaian international was presented this Thursday as a new player in Silvio Berlusconi's team and explained the reasons that made him accept this challenge at the age of 33 and leave behind Fiorentina.
"It is very difficult to say no to Galliani and Berlusconi because we have a bond that goes beyond football," recalled the player, who coincided with both during his time at Milan.
"I could have stayed with Fiorentina, but it's a challenge I like and if I can help get the club promoted I'll be happy to do so," said the former Barcelona player.
Similarly, Kevin-Prince doesn't find it beneath him to play in a lower league. "I've been down at other times, like at UD Las Palmas and it was the best year of my career. My only goal is to get out on the field and do well," he said.
Finally, Boateng spoke about how he sees the team and the coaching staff. "I like Brocchi's idea of football. We are a strong group, but we have to prove it on the field if we want to move up," he said
