Ighalo will not stay at United, but will get 28 million a year

The Nigerian striker wanted to stay on at United and he will not be able to, but at least he will get a good amount of money for staying on at Shanghai Shenhua.

Odion Ighalo's career turned 180 degrees when Man Utd decided to take him on loan for the current season.

He was in China, on a good contract, but finally he got an opportunity at a top team who he had been very close to joining quite a lot of times throughout his career.

However, COVID-19 came along and ruined everything because the footballer hardly got to play and he will shortly have to return to Shanghai Shenhua, his parent club.

The Red Devils tried to extend his loan deal, but it was in vain because Ighalo will shortly return to China to continue his career.

What should have been a major disappointment is no longer so because 'The Times' reported that Ighalo will be getting a multi-million pound contract in Shanghai.

According to the media outlet, he will earn around 25 million pounds a year (28 million euros) and a total of more than 75 million pounds until the end of his contract in 2023.

If everything goes as planned, Ighalo will become the fourth highest paid player on the planet after Messi, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo. Not bad for a player who will leave United after making just eight appearances for them.
