Icardi to be given £50 million release clause

Mauro Icardi and Inter Milan are negotiating a contract for the new season, but the forward could see himself have a much lower release clause due to his lack of minutes played this season.
The Argentine has not featured for the side since February 9, when he started and played 90 minutes in the clash with Parma.
With a contract running until 30 June 2021 and a market value of almost £100 million, Inter and Icardi are now talking about a possible contract renewal.
Icardi is not of interest to too many clubs. Real Madrid's interest in the striker has reportedly cooled and Inter Milan plan to lower his release clause with the club, which is currently set at around £100 million.
Their plan is to almost halve it to £60 million, prompting 'La Gazzetta Dello Sport' to comment: "How much is the jersey worth? For Icardi it's less than half".
