"I would like to be a fly on the wall to listen to what a player says"

Carlo Ancelotti stopped by the ‘PorettiCast’ podcast to talk about other topics that, although they also have to do with football, are less known about the Italian in his whirlwind of interviews, training sessions and matches with Real Madrid. He highlighted the figure of the coach, who he believes "is undervalued".
"Sometimes it seems we are not appreciated enough. I would like to be a fly on the wall to listen to what a player says when he is not playing and goes home. Many players have fought with me. but in the end, everything has been resolved."
"There was a player, I won’t give his name, who when I spoke in the dressing room, he would put a towel over his face so as not to hear me. It was at the beginning of his career. One day I told him: ‘We can’t go on like this.’ There are players who, when you leave them on the bench, find it difficult to greet you in the morning. That’s when they confuse the person with the player."
Closely linked to Real Madrid, he knows that this second stage will end at some point, but that he won't be the one to say so: "I won't decide when my adventure with Real Madrid will end, that's clear to me. The president will decide and sooner or later it will happen. My son Davide? Yes, he will be a good coach."
Modern football has evolved a lot, and now even the smallest detail is taken care of: "Now it's much more complicated than before. Before, I would put in a piece of paper: defensive barrier, who was taking corners, penalties, marks on set pieces and that was it. Now there are clips showing every position of the players."
