"I want to go to Madrid, I'm not renewing"

Mbappe has one foot out of Paris Saint-Germain. The Frenchman is clear on his plans for the future, which don't take place in the Parc des Princes. He wants to be the star man of another club in which he's not playing in the shadows of the likes of Neymar and Leo Messi.
This Thursday, 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' revealed, on their front page, a meeting held between PSG and Mbappe in which the player asked president Al-Khelaifi to leave the club. Mbappe assured him that there is no chance he will sign a new contract as his intention is to play for Real Madrid. "I want to go to Madrid, I'm not renewing", were the exact words that appeared in the aforementioned newspaper.
However, Mbappe was met with a negative response from his president. Al-Khelaifi has no intention of letting Mbappe leave this summer in an attempt to go all out to try and finally bring the Champions League trophy back to the French capital. As a result, Mbappe would leave on a free in the summer of 2022.

Mbappe was given a firm 'no' in what he believes to be a betrayal and a breach of Al-Khelaifi's word, given that the club promised him that they wouldn't stop him leaving when he signed back in 2017, according to Spanish daily 'AS'.
Now, the forward is clear on the matter. While he won't press to leave before the end of this transfer window, Mbappe won't take a second thought in moving to Madrid when his PSG contract comes to an end in June 2022. In fact, 'SER' brought to light that Mbappe has told his teammates that he will be staying.
Meanwhile, 'Los Blancos' continue to be alert to the Frenchman's situation as, if his desire to join is true, they may even wait one more year to save spending millions of euros, when instead Mbappe will arrive on a free transfer in 2022.
