'I want to be an example every day' - Bernardo Silva on Man City captaincy

With the departure of Kevin De Bruyne, Pep Guardiola had to find a leadership replacement at Manchester City.
Due to his experience and years at the club, Bernardo Silva seemed the most suitable to take on the Belgian's legacy and will be captain for the 2025-26 season.
The Portuguese player addressed the Manchester City faithful publicly and made it clear that he wants to be a great example for everyone at the club.
"I am very proud to be the new captain, but I know it is a great responsibility. Above all, I will try to be an example every day. The most important role is to create a good atmosphere in the dressing room. There must be respect among us, even when competing for a place in the team," he said during an open training session with fans.
"I was fortunate to share the dressing room with players like Vincent Kompany, Fernandinho, David Silva, and Sergio Aguero. The legacy they left is so great that it is not enough for us to finish second, third, or fourth in the Premier League," he emphasized.
