"I'm keen to get onto the Parc des Princes pitch"

The big news of the century in the world of football is now a reality. Lionel Messi will be a PSG player until 2023, with the option to extend the contract for another season. 

After the official annoucement was made and he posed with his new kit, the six time Ballon d'Or winner gave his first comments as a PSG player and seemed excited about this new adventure. 

"I'm delighted to begin a new chapter of my career at PSG. Everything at the club coincides with my footballing ambitions. I know the talent of the squad and the coaching staff," Messi began. 

"I'm determined to help construct something special for the club and the fans and I'm keen to get onto the Parc des Princes pitch," the Argentine concluded in comments given to the French club. 

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the PSG president, expressed his immense joy at getting the star, who will wear the number 30 shirt: "I'm delighted Lionel Messi has chosen to join PSG and we're delighted to welcome him and his family to Paris. He has not hidden his desire to keep on competing at the highest level and winning titles, and of course, our ambition as a club is to do the same," he began. 

The addition of Leo to our world class squad continues what is a very strategic and successful transfer window for the club. Led by our extraordinary coach and coaching staff, I hope the team makes history together with our fans all over the world," the PSG president said.
