'I'm happy with Benzema, but Florentino Perez could surprise us'

The French striker is having one of his most difficult seasons at the Bernabeu. Scoring just nine goals and providing ten assists in 41 games, his figures are well below what 'Los Blancos' expect from their No.9.
His performances have dipped so much that Benzema didn't feature in Madrid's starting XI for their Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich last week. Even when things were getting tough at the Allianz Arena, head coach Zinedine Zidane turned to Marco Asension instead of the 30-year-old.
It's lead to increasing speculation that Benzema will be on his way out of the Bernabeu in the summer, to most likely be replaced by Neymar, Robert Lewandowski or Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.
When asked about the situation, in an interview with 'El Larguero', Nazario said: "Benzema lacks luck, he does so many things but lacks luck, we are all happy with him but we already know that at any time, Florentino could so something surprising".
It's true. Throughout his tenure as President, Perez has wooed on numerous occasions with his 'Galactico' signings. Although it had seemed that those had been left behind in place of giving young talents a better chance of succeeding.
But maybe Nazario's comments are an indication that Madrid will return to their blockbuster transfer policy soon...
