"I'm dead set on my players"

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone said after his side's defeat against Cadiz that they have to "keep working" and be "dead set on his players", and assumed that away from home he is not finding mechanisms for his players to "generate what they generate" at home.

Simeone highlighted after the game at the Nuevo Mirandilla that his team had "started the game well, with the desire to generate good things, but they found the goal in a good action, in the first dangerous action", and, from then on, "it was a different game".

"In the second half, I think the introduction of Correa gave a little more spark to the attack and we had the play of Llorente to shorten the score", explained the coach, who defended that his players "are giving their all" despite their away defeat.

In this sense, Simeone was self-critical in assuring that he is the one who is not "finding" the formula "for them (his players) to generate what they generate when we play at home", he affirmed.

The Argentinian was confident that "they can do great things from here on in" and added: "Now, after a defeat like this, we have to sustain the criticism, which will be fair," he added.

For Atletico's coach, "Cadiz played a great game, as you have to compete when you are playing for relegation", which is why he congratulated the Cadiz players, who, in his opinion, did a good job defensively and "were very concrete in attack".
