"I'm 100% responsible for this rubbish" - Klopp

It's certainly not been the season any Liverpool fans would have hoped for last season, with the Reds languishing in eighth spot in the top flight, with participation in any European competition next season in serious doubt.

And things don't get any easier for Klopp and his squad. On Sunday, Liverpool play host to league leaders Arsenal, who will be hoping to continue their stellar form up north. Ahead of the game, coach Klopp spoke to the press, lamenting the poor season his side's having.

When speaking to 'Sky Sports', the German manager blamed himself for the results, saying that only he is "100 per cent responsible for this rubbish".

He then went on to apologise for the side's form this term, acknowledging that "they don't have the season they wished for. But in the long term they will forget that."

Before ending, he was keen to point out how grateful he was to his club, who have chosen to stick by him through this tough patch, and who didn't choose to sack him like other clubs such as Chelsea and Leicester did.
