"I accept to play as a full-back in the WC, I want to be a starter"

In comments to FIFA, defender Jules Kounde made it clear that he is open to playing at right-back for France at the next World Cup in Qatar, if Didier Deschamps considers it appropriate.
"I'm more used to the centre-back position, because that's where I've played most of my career, but I'm at the orders of the national team coach. The important thing is what the national team needs. I want to be a starter and if the coach thinks the team would be better with me at right-back, I accept it and I will do it without any problem," said the Barcelona player.
Kounde also highlighted the great group that has been built up in the France squad after winning the World Cup in Russia and the UEFA Nations League: "I've been called up for a little over a year now, so I've got used to it.
"I have been able to adapt and get used to the style of the team, I feel very comfortable in this squad and I hope to continue for many years. This team has great prestige and representing your country is a great thing," said the centre-back.
