Matthias Ginter has admitted he found it difficult getting used to playing for a club the size of Borussia Dortmund in his first season at Signal Iduna Park.
The 21-year-old made just 14 appearances last term after arriving from Freiburg in the summer of 2014, as BVB ended the season seventh in the Bundesliga.
Thomas Tuchel has since replaced Jurgen Klopp as coach and Ginter has subsequently flourished as a right-back, having been bought as a centre half.
He told Goal: "Everything was bigger compared to Freiburg. That was a big change for me but everyone within the club gave me a warm welcome.
"I really like how everyone in this city is crazy about football and supports BVB."
Dortmund are second in the Bundesliga, sitting five points behind Bayern Munich, and sit top of Europa League Group C with three wins from their first four games.
However, they have been accused of not taking the competition seriously, which is a claim Ginter is quick to dismiss.
