Ousmane Dembele once again missed out on the game against Getafe due to injury, making it his 8th injury in two years with Barcelona.
The Frenchman has not found regularity and, due to this, has not been able to show his full potential. Getafe is where it all began in 2017, when he only had only been playing for Barca for a few months before he suffered a serious injury.
In that 2017-18 campaign, the Frenchman missed out on 20 games due to the injury and was away from the pitch for 106 day. In addition, 15 days later, he suffered a muscle tear which meant he was out for another month.
On the last day of the La Liga of his first campaign as a Barca player, an ankle sprain compromised his presence in the World Cup, although he was finally able to play for his team in Russia.
Dembele started the 2018-19 season in better physical condition, but not in the estra-sports plan, with constant delays that made him constantly on everyone's lips.
Of course, before the Leganés game, a slip caused a sprained ankle, which meant he was out for 18 days between January and February. The fifth injury took place in March, against Olympique Lyon, in the Champions League: a muscle tear, which again meant he was out for 26 days, to return on April 9 to the discipline of Ernesto Valverde.
The last injury of 2018-19 took place in the first minute of the match against Celta and prevented him from playing at Anfield. He would not reappear until the first day of this 2019-20, in San Mamés, where he was also injured.
He was expected to return in Getafe, but ended up being frustrated by new physical problems. Although they do not seem serious, they begin to turn a great player into a very injury-prone man, despite shining brightly, has failed to find the regularity expected of the second most expensive signing in the history of Barça and one of the most expensive players in history.
