The Spanish national team had their first and only warm-up match before the Tokyo Olympics. It was Japan that came up against Luis de la Fuente's side, with it ending all square after 90 minutes.
The Spaniards dominated from start to finish but were unable to break the deadlock. What's more, they even found themselves a goal down because it was the Japonese who put themselves one up. The starting eleven featured three players that went to the European Championships.
It was Unai Simon who conceded the goal, although he did make some important saves at other points in the match. Pau Torres and Dani Olmo were the other two starters. In the second half, Oyarzabal struck the woodwork from point-blank range before firing another shot into the side netting, while Eric Garcia helped his side to avoid conceding a second.
The best of the lot was, unsuprisingly, Pedri. The boy from the Canaries improved Spain endlessly when he entered the pitch, making his side more offensive and efficient in the final third. In fact, he made two magnificent passes, one of which left Miranda absolutely on his own which eventually resulted in Spain's equaliser.
In total, there were six players from Spain's Euros squad that went from being semi-finalists to making their debuts with the Under-23 side, before the Olympic Games get underway in Tokyo.
