Franck Ribery pleads with Boateng to stay at Bayern

Boateng had a disappointing World Cup as his German national side was knocked out in the group stage, but nevertheless has been rumoured to be on the radar of Man Utd and PSG in recent weeks.

Jose Mourinho in particular is keen to re-enforce his back line this summer, and with just days left in the English transfer window Man Utd could have to pay a premium to get the 2014 World Cup winner away from Bavaria.

While it is thought that the player is keen on a fresh challenge after spending the last 7 years with Bayern, his club-mates are keen for him to stay where he is.

"I’ve been playing with Jerome for many years now. I hope he’ll stay with us because he’s an important player. To me, he’s one of the best central defenders in the world" Ribery is reported to have said according to the 'Metro'.

The former Man CIty centre-back actually played against the 'Red Devils' on Sunday as his team beat them 1-0 at Allianz Arena.
