Dani Ceballos is the first Real Madrid player to pick up a pre-season injury, having suffered a muscle problem on the third day of training on Wednesday.
Following tests on Thursday, the club confirmed that he was suffering from an injury to the "distal tendon of the right biceps femoris muscle".
"Following tests carried out on Dani Ceballos by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the distal tendon in his right thigh. His recovery will be assessed," reads the report published by Real Madrid.
According to 'EFE', the Andalusian midfielder underwent an MRI scan, which confirmed the extent of the muscle injury he is suffering.
This is bad news for the Spaniard, who will miss part of the 'Merengues' pre-season, while the competition in midfield will be fierce with the return to training of Kroos, Bellingham, Modric, Valverde, Camavinga and Tchouameni.
