In that encounter at the Camp Nou, Figo had multiple objects thrown at him from the stands when he was about to take corners: paper, mobile phones, a whisky bottle and even a pig's head. The picture of the pig's head on the pitch is a famous image of Spanish football.
Figo gave an interview to 'Movistar's Susana Guasch and the journalist reminded him that this summer it will be 20 years since he moved from Barca, where he was a legend and club captain, to Real Madrid. Florentino Perez signed him for 10 billion pesetas (44 million pounds), which made him the most exepnsive footballer and Perez won the elections. That all began in 2000.
"This summer it will be 20 years since you signed for Real Madrid. I imagine you will celebrate with a glass of Port and a pig's head," the presenter said. Figo smiled.
"While, I'm going to make the pig's head this Friday. I'll tell you how it goes," Figo responded while winking at the camera from his home: "I'm making it, I'll try to make it right. Well, I don't know, I'm not a fan of celebrating this things. I expect to celebrate with it my friend and a nice 'caña' (small glass of beer)," the former Real Madrid player said. His move to Madrid nearly 20 years ago made him a traitor for Barca fans.
