Fekir left out of squad for Chelsea clash as he eyes late move
The World Cup winner only re-joined his club side fror training earlier this week, but is continuing to keep his options open as the transfer deadline approaches.
Fekir had looked set for a move to Liverpool earlier in the summer, but that switch sensationally fell through at the last minute, with Chelsea now understood to be the favourites for his signature.
New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is said to be keen on making additions to his squad this summer as he looks to build a side capable of implementing his unique style of play, with Fekir a suitable alternative should either Willian or Eden Hazard depart.
Lyon are understood to be prepared to cash in should any side meet their £60m asking price, though English sides face a race against time to bring the player in with the window set to shut on Thursday.
Fekir himself refused to rule out a move when speaking to 'OLTV' recently, saying: "As you can see, I am in Lyon. I am very good here. But the transfer window is still long and everything goes very fast in football.
"We do not know what will happen in the future but I am very good here. I feel great in the group. We have very good players, there is a good atmosphere.
"It's a bit like the French team: there is a mix between young and old, with more experienced players than others.
"There is a good group, very homogeneous. We live well and I hope that Lyon will have a great season."
