Farke: '1-1 was a fair result'

The Canaries took the lead in the 70th minute when Timm Klose powered a bullet header past Scott Carson, before Derby grabbed a late equaliser from Craig Bryson.

Despite the late equaliser, Farke was positive after a result that left Norwich undefeated in their last eight game in all competitions.

“When you concede so late in the game with the equaliser in the 87th minute, it’s always a bit disappointing we were close to a massive win,” he admitted.

“In general, I would say it’s a decent point. Derby County, for me, are one of the favourites for promotion.

“I think, in general, it was a really good game with two sides who try to play football and try to dominate the game with possession.

“I think it was a pretty attractive game and both sides were there with good performances.

"In the end, we were unlucky with the equaliser because it was Bryson who tried to stop the ball with his quad and from that it was deflected into the goal.

“But in general, a decent point and I can live with it."

Farke added that his side fully merited to take the lead. 

“I got the feeling both teams were pretty concentrated. In the second-half, I got the feeling that we deserved to be in the lead," he continued.

“We were the better team but it’s quite normal in the last 15 minutes that they would try everything and put pressure on us.

“Then we had two possibilities. Either you go further on and try to be there with a counter to try and score a second goal – we tried but to do this you have to play without any mistake.

“Sadly in the 86th minute, there was this unlucky situation. You have to accept it in football but all in all, it was probably a fair result.”
