Christian Eriksen's season has not been one of the best of his career in terms of prominence. In fact, the Dane is going through one of the seasons in which he is enjoying the least amount of playing time.
Indeed, the 32-year-old midfielder was a key player for Ten Hag in his debut season with Manchester United, making 44 competitive appearances, 37 of them starts. However, the Dane has fallen down the pecking order at the Red Devils this season.
Kobbie Mainoo's breakthrough has meant that Eriksen has enjoyed less playing time this term, making just 21 appearances so far, 11 of them starts, something he is unhappy about and has spoken to his manager Erik ten Hag about.
"I’ve had a talk with Erik about being unhappy with the situation and wanting to play as much as possible. He said Kobbie Mainoo is doing well, and the rest of the midfield is also performing well, so there is competition for places, he tol 'Tipsbladet'.
"Of course, you can be concerned in the long run because I want to play as much as possible. You don't want to always sit on the bench," concluded the Denmark international.
