England blame Cristiano Ronaldo for CL exit

The English press slammed Cristiano Ronaldo for the Champions League last 16 elimination against Atletico Madrid, They also criticised Man Utd's inability to get past the last 16 stage since reaching the final in 2011.
"Cristiano Ronaldo didn't manage a shot on target, which, for a man who shoots all the table, it's quite rare," 'The Telegraph' wrote about the Portuguese.
The Portuguese, who was on the front page of the 'Daily Star' and 'Daily Mirror', had scored a hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, but he did not shoot on target against Atletico.
"Cristiano Ronaldo produced a couple of his clasical touches at the beginning of the game, but he became a peripheral figure well before the final whistle," the 'BBC' said, in reference to the fact the '7' did little in the second half of the game when Man Utd needed to equalise after Renan Lodi had scored.
'The Times' says that this was Ralf Rangnick's final opportunity to keep his job as manager and how Diego Simeone, who ended having objects thrown at him from the stands, ended his chances of keeping the managerial role.
"One by one, all the chances of success have gone. All that remains for Man Utd is a terrible season and an unlikely fight for fourth spot in the Premier League," 'The Times' opined.
