Dunga: Brazil can do better but winning is what matters

Brazil coach Dunga concedes he was hoping to see a better performance from his side in Saturday’s Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour victory over Costa Rica, but insists getting the victory is the most important thing.
Hulk, making his first appearance for the Selecao since World Cup 2014, hit the only goal of the game at Red Bull Arena to maintain Dunga’s 100 per cent friendly record since his July 2014 appointment.
And Dunga said he was encouraged by portions of the contest, particularly by how his players implemented their work from training during the week in New Jersey.
"You can't have a perfect game. Lot of things we practiced in training came out well and I know we can do them even better. I liked how this team performed,” Dunga told reporters.
"We created a lot of chances. We would have liked to score more goals, but a lot of times in soccer, one is enough.”
Dunga made a number of changes from the side that competed at this year’s Copa America, with Luiz Gustavo and Danilo coming back from injury, and Marcelo returning at left-back after Filipe Luis withdrew through injury.
Marcelo Grohe made a surprise debut in goal, preferred to regular No.1 Jefferson and Santos playmaker Lucas Lima also made his international bow, while Fernandinho and Douglas Costa came into the side at the expense of Elias and captain Neymar, who was left out ahead of his upcoming two-match suspension.
"It was a good match. All the players that started did well," Dunga added. "Rafinha did well, Kaka did well [from the bench], Danilo too. But we can get better.
"It's normal after four days of training they don't do everything right. Overall it was a good performance.
"We have to think of qualifying now. We have to give opportunities to the other players and look at other aspects of training. We have to prepare for the next games"
