For what it meant, but especially for how it arrived. Alexander-Arnold's quick thinking in the famous comeback at Anfield was the object of multiple bits of laughter. Not even Liverpool could resist. On this occasion, the Liverpool man had his say.
Up to now, the England international had said nothing controversial on the incident. However, this time he did.
Although the idea was to say goodbye to 2019 on social media, Alexander-Arnold used a photo of what happened to highlight the change of decade.
"Happy new year, everyone," he wrote before publishing a photo of himself playing for Liverpool as a kid and another of a corner which he took. He titled them "beginning of the decade" and "end of the decade".
There was no direct mention of Barca, but there does seem to be an indirect one. Barcelona fans will probably not find it very amusing.
