Davide Ancelotti set to leave Real Madrid, Reims in the wings

Davide Ancelotti is doing well as assistant to his father, Carlo Ancelotti, at Real Madrid. As a result, a number of clubs have been eyeing the Italian as a possible destination should he wish to start a new challenge on his own. 

According to 'L'Equipe', Ancelotti is among the candidates for the Stade Reims bench for next season, although the Italian is under contract with Real Madrid until June 2026. Moreover, the first option of 'les rouges et blancs' is not to pay an extra amount for his transfer, but they do not rule it out.

On the other hand, the French team received around 60 offers. After a first selection, the total number of names has been reduced to 20. The next step in the process is to reduce the number of subjects to 6 or 7. These chosen few will be interviewed by Reims via videoconference and then only 3 will be selected for a physical meeting. 

After having carried out all the above steps, Reims would have to choose one of them. If they are not convinced, there would be the option of looking for a coach for whom a deposit would have to be paid. In addition to Davide Ancelotti, there is the option of Le Havre coach Luka Elsner, whose contract expires in 2025.
