Dani Olmo to join Barca after reaching verbal agreement with RB Leipzig

His sensational European Championship and a relatively favourable market situation for an exit helped Barca to accelerate their interest in Dani Olmo, who once wore the Azulgrana shirt. The financial cost, the payment deadlines and the stumbling block of RB Leipzig made the deal difficult, but Deco's visit to the German city seems to have speeded things up.
According to Fabrizio Romano, there is already a verbal agreement between all parties for the Spaniard to wear the Azulgrana colours this season. Barca planned to bring Deco to Leipzig to negotiate. First, he met with the player's agents to update their demands before meeting with RB Leipzig's sporting management, who came to meet the Portuguese. A successful negotiation, as only minutes later Fabrizio Romano's famous 'Here we go' arrived.
This one already takes for granted the arrival of Dani Olmo at Barca, who would pay 55 million euros fixed and seven more in add-ons, although here it points out that the largest amount is difficult to fulfil for the transfer to go beyond 60 million. This part of the deal with RB Leipzig was the one that had eluded Deco until now.
With an agreement on the aforementioned issues, the meeting with the footballer's side has been much simpler. Barcelona, barring a dramatic turn of events, will sign Dani Olmo for six seasons, until June 2030. The player, who already said after the European Championship that "he was clear about what he wanted to do", will return to Barcelona as the big signing so far of the Cule transfer window after the Nico Williams route was all but ruled out.
Dani Olmo, 26 years old, will return to Spain. He left in 2014 when he opted to go to Croatian football to sign for Dinamo Zagreb. He stayed with the Balkan side until 2020, when an ambitious RB Leipzig paid 29 million euros for him. With the occasional irregular period, he has settled in one of the reference clubs in the Bundesliga. After his sensational European Championship, this opportunity at Barcelona allows him to continue that performance at the top of the European scene.
