Dani Alves is waiting for Barca renewal

Dani Alves returned to Barcelona to help the team in its new stage under the direction of Xavi Hernandez. In his first season back at the club, the Brazilian has played a key role despite him being almost 40 years of age. Because of this, it is thought that he will extend his time at the club for another year.
'Marca' assures that the right back is waiting for the call from the Barca board headed by Joan Laporta. The newspaper reports that the negotiations will begin sooner rather than later as the club value both the player's work on the pitch, as well as his dressing room presence, taking the rising stars of the Barca squad under his wing.
The most difficult pill for the ex Sao Paulo player to swallow during his return to the Catalan Capital would have been the fact that he had to be left out of the squad for Barcelona's Europa League fixtures this season. Loooking ahead to next season, during which 'Los Azulgranas' expect to be playing in the Champions League again, it is quite probable that the defender will be back sharing the pitch with Europe's elite players.
However, before any of this can happen, Dani Alves has to receive the call he so desires in order to renew his contract at the club. Logic suggests that the player will have to take a pay cut in order to keep the books balanced at the club. This is something Joan Laporta has been working hard to ensure during the last few months.
