COVID wreaks havoc in Korea: A centreback had to go in goal!

The pandemic has not left us. The Coronavirus still remains present, rife in some countries, despite the precautionary efforts made to avoid the spread of the disease.

In South-Korea, Gyeongnam FC have a number of players out due to Covid-19. Unfortunately for them, three of the affected are goalkeepers, and the story does not end there. This is beacuse the last of their four goalkeepers is out due to injury.

Therefore, when Bucheon FC 1995 came to town, the home team had no choice but to be inventive with their starting lineup...

The manager opted to put Lee Woo-Hyuk in goal. With his usual number of 6 on his back, he stood between the sticks as his team's makeshift goalkeeper.

The lack of resources painted an abnormal picture: an outfield player occupying the goalkeeper's position and it was not due to the usual keeper being sent off.
