One of Chelsea's problems this season has been in front of goal, with new signing Morata failing to deliver prolific numbers.
To remedy the situation, speculation has claimed the 'Blues' are after Inter's Icardi who scored 29 goals this season.
To sweeten the deal, 'Cadena SER' and 'Il Messaggero' report that Chelsea will offer the Serie A outfit €35-40million plus Morata to tempt Inter into selling their superstar.
Icardi was indispensable in securing Inter qualification for the Champions League next season and even finished as the league's joint-top scorer alongside Lazio's Ciro Immobile.
However, the player has insisted that his priority is with Inter so Chelsea's board may need to do some heavy negotiations to change the Argentine's mind.
Morata has been consistently linked with a return to Italy but rumours had suggested that was with Juventus or AC Milan, not Inter.
