Chelsea considering Lampard for rest of season

It's the saga which just keeps on giving. After parting ways with first team coach Graham Potter on Sunday, Chelsea are still on the hunt for a new man to fit the role.
After much speculation, it was reported that Luis Enrique had travelled to London to reach a deal with the Blues, with it thought he was the man pipped for the job. The Spaniard then later denied the claim that he had been to London.
However, that's not exactly how things have panned out. On Wednesday evening, multiple English media sources were reporting that ex-Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is being considered to take up the reins once more. However, this time he would be employed on an interim basis until the end of the season, according to 'The Guardian'.
This would give the English manager a remarkable return to the sport, after most recently leaving Premier League strugglers Everton. After a mixed ride as Chelsea manager between 2019 and 2021, the ex-midfielder could be one step away from re-joining as coach, and he is even considered to be "100% prepared to accept the job", as Fabrizio Romano claims.
