Cavani made it 1-1 in the 71st minute of the game, sparking a flicker of hope for the home side in their dreams of completing a huge comeback against Real Madrid.
The ball was crossed in from the left flank by Angel Di Maria, and Thiago Silva headed it back across goal. His header struck Sergio Ramos, and thanks to some ensuing pinball, the ball then hit Edison Cavani and flew past Keylor Navas into the Real Madrid net.
The goal took the score to 4-2 on aggregate, and left PSG with 20 minutes to score two goals in order to take the game to extra time.
