Uruguay fought until the end but it was not enough. The South American side were on the edge of getting into the last-16 of the World Cup after winning their match against Ghana 0-2. However, South Korea ended up coming back to beat Portugal 2-1, meaning they went through on goal difference.
Their was a lot of controversy in the game, especially as Diego Alonso's men wanted two penalties. One for Darwin Nunez and another for Cavani. As a matter of fact, the VAR monitor ended up receiving the brunt of the latter's anger.
The Valencia striker, when he was going to the dressing room with his teammates, stopped dead and punched it over. There were several FIFA officials who saw it and they may give him a hefty fine.
It is best to see for yourself what happened at the end of the game. Valverde's quarrel with the ref, Gimenez and Muslera wound up, Luis Suarez crying... and now this from Cavani.
