Campbell, who recently stated his football brain is being wasted, has offered his expertise on Arsenal's performance after City ran rampant at Wembley.
"They need to ask if the players cared about that particular game - or were they believing, when they walked out, that they'd lost the game already?," the former Gunners captain said.
Campbell then listed what he deemed to be Arsenal's downfalls in the game: "When I look at Arsene Wenger's team during the League Cup final, simple things let them down. Awareness, detail, fighting, running and earning the right to play."
"Arsenal didn't turn up in any capacity, and elementary mistakes cost them. You saw it especially with the first goal – Shkodran Mustafi had no awareness about him," he added, singling out the individual error of the Arsenal centre-back.
Campbell went on to express his fears for how the Gunners' campaign could unravel: "The season is in danger of petering out to them finishing sixth, getting knocked out of the Europa League, and not getting a Champions League place."
The ex-Arsenal centre-back recently saw himself turned down for a managerial post at Oxford United. He'll be hoping his beloved Gunners find some form soon before their chances of a top four spot drift too far out of reach.
