Buffon could retire back at where it all started

Parma could be the beginning and end of Gianluigi Buffon's career. 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' reports that he could go back to Parma, where it all began, to play one season there. The 41 year-old feels fit enough to go on for another season.
The veteran goalkeeper left for Paris in search of a new experience which could help him to win the Champions League. In the end, it slipped away from him once again. After a season full of ups and downs, the club and the player decided not to extend Buffon's contract and therefore, part company.
Despite the fact he has been linked with a possible move to Barcelona, Buffon's intention is apparently to return to Italian football. There is the possibility of him going back to Parma, the club which he joined aged 13 and made his debut with at 17. He played brilliantly for five seasons before making the step up to Juve.
The cited source assures that no talks are underway, but there is a declaration of intentions from both sides. It would be a fitting end to career as he would end his career exactly where it all started more than 25 years ago.
