It has not taken Borussia Dortmund long to rebuild after Erling Haaland's departure to Manchester City was confirmed. The German side first signed Niklas Sule from Bayern Munich and then Nico Schlotterbeck and Karim Adeyemi, who is set to replace the Norwegian.
However, the Signal Iduna Park outfit are looking to strengthen their squad and have already confirmed the arrival of another midfielder. This is none other than Salih Ozcan, who has arrived from Köln. The Turkish midfielder has committed himself to his new club until 30th June 2026.
"Ozcan is one of the surprises in the Bundesliga last season and played a key role as a defensive midfielder. His mentality and physicality, together with his game intelligence, will do our team good," explained Sebastian Kehl, the German club's sporting director.
Afterwards, it was the player who showed his pride: "I owe a lot to Koln. The energy of Borussia Dortmund finally led me to this decision. I'm very happy to be able to develop further and to be able to help the team in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. I'm very ambitious and I'm prepared to invest everything for that.
The announcement came moments before the arrival of Edin Terzic as new coach was confirmed. The coach replaced Marco Rose who was sacked for poor results in the recently completed campaign.
