Benzema pulled one back after confirmation from VAR

Real Madrid, much fresher than Athletic after some subsitutions, got back into the Super Cup semi-final against Athletic thanks to Karim Benzema. 

Although the goal was disallowed initially as the Frenchman was deemed to be offside, it was finally given after a VAR review. 

Valverde put in a cross from the left which Casemiro headed near the six yard box. 

Karim, on the other post, took advantage of the lay off and, after a slight deflection by Inigo Martinez, beat Unai Nunez to make it 1-2.
