It's no secret that Benzema is having a difficult season for Madrid. Scoring just five league goals in 26 appearances, the forward has received a constrant stream of criticism, something that he touched upon during the interview.
"I play football. To help my team-mates always and to win everything. What I don't like is that they attack me when I play well, even if I don't score.
He continued: "I play for those who know what value I have on the field. Those who go to the stadium to whistle, whistle. I will not change them.
"The great players always criticise us. We sell newspapers. If I play a bad game, I don't need to read the papers to find out".
When asked about the form of Madrid's 'BBC' (Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and himself), Benzema replied: "Now it turns out that we are bad..."
The Frenchman will hope to change his fortunes when 'Los Blancos' take on Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday.
