Benfica boss explains decision to drop Enzo: "What he did wasn't right"

Benfica beat Portimonense 1-0. Joao Mario's goal form the penalty spot was enough for the home side to take all three points.
Enzo Fernandez was the big absentee in this matchday 15 in Portugal. Roger Schmidt, at the end of the match, explained that he did not play because he was disciplined.
"What he did wasn't right, that's why he wasn't in the team," he said. The coach was referring to the trip his player made to Argentina last weekend without permission, when the team were already preparing for this match.
Schmidt made it clear, however, that he will take no further action against him if he demonstrates his commitment: "Now he has a clean slate. He is our player, we count on him and we need him to be champions.
Enzo Fernandez's future, however, is unclear. Chelsea want him and that has generated unease at Benfica for the way the Blues have done things. "They have been disrespectful to us," the coach said just a few days ago.
