He admitted that playing for Barcelona was a mission accomplished, but Frenkie de Jong could be enjoying his final few days as a Barcelona player. Due to the Catalans' financial issue and doubts over the Dutchman's performances, De Jong can now be sold. Man Utd are the ones to have insisted most on his signing.
There has been plenty of information in recent days and Man Utd have put a price tag of 75 million euros plus add ons on the Netherlands international. That is close to the 80 million plus add ons Barca wanted initially.
However, the request from the Camp Nou has changed and Frenkie de Jong's asking price has increased again. That is what Fabrizio Romano said when he reported that there had been a meeting between Barca and Man Utd on Tuesday. The La Liga side made it clear that the player will not leave for less than 86 million euros.
An amount which, up to now, those at Old Trafford are not willing to pay so no agreement was reached in that meeting. Talks will continue in the coming days. The cited media outlet said that Barca want 86 million euros guaranteed due to La Liga's financial control.
