Barça's plan to tackle injury crisis

In just two days of the international break, Barcelona have been hit hard by the so-called 'FIFA virus'. Five of Barcelona's best players have been injured or have had problems with their respective injuries.

France's Jules Kounde and Ousmane Dembele were both injured, but it was the former Sevilla man who was the most worrying with a femoral biceps injury. Netherlands duo Memphis Depay and Frenkie de Jong also struggled against Poland and caused concern in the Camp Nou offices.

Finally, Ronald Araujo only took 20 seconds to ask for a change, something that worries Xavi Hernandez a lot. All of them except the former Borussia Dortmund player returned to Barcelona to undergo medical tests with a 'Clasico' coming up in October.

That's why 'Sport' suggested the possible solutions that are going through the coach's head. As for the centre of defence, the coach could use Gerard Pique, who has only played 134 minutes so far and who only has Christensen and Eric Garcia ahead of him.

Then, the problem in midfield lies with Frenkie de Jong, who is not guaranteed a starting place either. Besides, the former Ajax player does not seem to have anything serious. Xavi will be able to give more importance to Gavi and Pedri and the young Pablo Torre will have to take a back seat.

In attack, Memphis Depay has not been used much by the coach due to the likes of Lewandowski, Raphinha, Dembele, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati. However, his absence will have an impact when it comes to rotation with the second team.
