Barca president Laporta believes there is no need for signings: “We’ve very competitive squad"

Barcelona's problems increased with the serious injury to Gavi, who will miss the rest of the season. Despite this, Joan Laporta did not want to fuel rumours about the January transfer window and called for calm on the matter during the 'Marca' awards gala, which was held on Thursday.

The president wished his player the best possible recovery: "It's an unfortunate injury. The first thing is that he gets better and focuses on his recovery. Gavi has a great present and future, we are at his side for whatever he needs".

Regarding transfers, Joan Laporta put the ball in Deco's court: "We delegate to Deco, who with the coach decides these matters, they take it to the board of directors and then we decide. In principle, we think that we have a very competitive squad and that the coach has enough elements to continue to have a good season.

'RAC 1' claimed that La Liga would give the green light to the signing of Vitor Roque in January if Barcelona deem it appropriate. The employers would allow his arrival because of Gavi, as the club could use up to 80% of the midfielder's salary to go to the transfer window.
