Bale: "We are devastated"

Los Angeles FC striker and Wales captain Gareth Bale said after the defeat to Iran on the second matchday of the Qatar 2022 World Cup that their chances lie in picking themselves up and beating England.
"We have to keep going and we have to pick ourselves up straight away. It will be difficult now, but we have to try to beat England, it's as simple as that," said the former Real Madrid striker.
"We fought until the end, but it's difficult when you're down to ten players against good teams," he added to the BBC at the end of the match. "We're devastated, there's no other way to put it," admitted the Welsh captain, who is playing in the first and last World Cup of his career.
The defeat leaves Wales with one point after two games, in a more than difficult situation. They face England next Tuesday at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium and need a win to have any chance of reaching the last 16.
