Bale 'rejected Manchester United move'
Spanish publication 'Don Balon' claims that Jose Mourinho's side agreed a €100m fee with Real Madrid for the Welshman, with Zinedine Zidane happy for the player to leave and club president Florentino Perez happy to sanction the move, however, it is claimed that with everything agreed, Bale then turned down the 'Red Devils'.
The money Real would have received for Bale was thought to be earmarked for Kylian Mbappe, who later completed a loan move to PSG.
The same publication reports that the Welshman's reasoning for rejecting the move was that he did not want to leave one of the strongest sides in world football right now for a team that is very much under construction, despite their significant improvements in recent months.
Jose Mourinho made his desire to sign a winger clear this summer and was heavily linked with a move for Bale, perhaps United's strong start to the new season could convince the former Tottenham star to reconsider the move come January.
No doubt Premier League managers everyhwhere will be breathing a sigh of relief that they will not have to face a Bale-inspired United this season.
