"Bad moment will pass" - Ancelotti backs Mbappe

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said that the match against Liverpool “was not decisive”, that they will get into the top 24 of the group stage and will compete for the Champions League.

The Italian coach spoke at a press conference after his team lost 2-0 to Liverpool on Wednesday, leaving them practically out of qualifying directly for the round of 16 and with the need to go to the extra round of 32.

“This match was not decisive. We will get there and compete in the Champions League, as in past years,” he assured.

On Kylian Mbappe, who missed a penalty and continued his dismal form of the entire season, Ancelotti asked him to keep fighting and working. "Mbappe should work hard and keep fighting because the (bad) moment will pass. He is an extraordinary player," he said.

In the defeat at Liverpool, the injury list of the 'Merengues' has worsened, with the muscular problem suffered by Eduardo Camavinga, which forced the Frenchman to be substituted in the second half.

“Another one has gone down, Camavinga. I hope that for the next match Rodrygo can return. We have the experience of last year's injuries and hopefully this year will also go well,” he recalled.
