Atletico have not forgotten about Semedo

Trippier's La Liga departure is a reality. The Atletico Madrid full-back will head for the Premier League and sign for Newcastle, leaving Diego Simeone with a difficult hole to fill. 

Therefore, Atletico Madrid have got down to work and everything seems to indicate that Cesar Azpilicueta is in the best position to replace the Englishman. The Spaniard's contract expires in June and he could be an interesting sale for Chelsea. 

However, in the last few hours, there has been talk over a possible new contract being offered to him  by the Blues. It is for that reason that Atletico are considering a plan B just in case.

That person is Nelson Semedo, a player who has been in La Liga before. The Portuguese full-back has another year left on his contract and Wolves are not willing to sell him. Furthermore, the player's financial demands are quite high.
