Arter reveals how Keane row was put to bed

The Cardiff loanee made himself unavailable for last month's games after a heated argument with Keane over his availability to train, but has since returned to feature in the recent games against Denmark and Wales.

Speaking to 'The Sun', Arter revealed that he and Keane had sat down and discussed their problems in an honest manner, with any issues between them now firmly in the past.

"We spoke like men and it's water under the bridge," Arter explained. "I wasn't happy with what happened.

"I pulled out as it was best for myself and, most importantly, the squad.

"The good thing is, it's been sorted. It wasn't an apology I was after.

"I can take having arguments with people - that's part of life.

"But I don't like that sort of confrontation and wasn't sure what the situation was between me and Roy."

Bizarrely, defender Stephen Ward also wound up involved in the bust-up after a WhatsApp voice message detailing a row between Keane, Arter and Jon Walters meant for his friends was leaked online.

However, Arter insists that there are no hard feelings between anyone in the squad and Ward, who was "stitched up" by someone he thought he could trust.

"Wardy is very professional and made a mistake, not on purpose. He got stitched up by someone," Arter insisted.

"I know Wardy was really disappointed about that, for the camp and for those involved.

"But he's a great lad and I'd say the camp is a happy one now.

"Everyone is trying to fix what we need to fix and that's picking up more results."
